Professional Career
For about 25+ years, I designed/developed and taught Leadership Development courses for various corporate managers in California. After my husband died in 2002, I moved back to Indiana and finished my career at the State of Indiana teaching government leaders at both the Department of Transportation (INDOT), and the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV). Now happily retired since 2018, I continue to be actively involved in IABC, joining this group almost since its inception.
In 1979 while working at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA, I took a course on supervision, where the class was shown a video scenario in which we could see a breakdown in communication between a manager and her employee from each person’s perspective. Seeing an event from several different vantage points led me to become most passionate about helping managers discover and grow their leadership and communicating skills as they lead employees through massive organizational changes.
Personal Statement:
I met and married my late husband after moving to California in the early 80’s. We were not able to have children of our own but had a marvelous marriage until he died in 2002 at age 53. He was not a Christian when we married, but I am very happy to report that he became a Christian a couple of weeks before he died. Praise God!
My passion and interest in self-growth has always been strong and being raised in a conservative Christian atmosphere has led me to a strong desire for studying and knowing God’s will. Through IABC I am learning to channel all my previous training into a deeper, more enriched study of the sacred texts.
